    Haven’s Harvest offers timely and reliable surplus food pick-up and delivery in the New Haven area, connecting businesses with community sites through the transfer of high quality excess food. Haven’s Harvest is currently seeking help from students in loading excess food into coolers at Yale Farm, so that it can be delivered out into the community. They are seeking assistance on Friday mornings/early afternoons, with delivery times varying from 9am-1pm.

    Moving With H.O.P.E.

    We are launching a new website for a COVID-specific project. We need headshots and some other images to edited to look uniform.

    We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to (1) create clear directions for our staff/volunteer leads on how to take a high quality pictures at home with a smartphone, (2) coordinate the collection of photos, (3) edit the photos, and (4) maintain a tracking sheet and Drive.

    Timeline/Scope: We need to collect and edit about 15 photos in the next 2-5 days.

    We are looking for developers to help on a project. We are developing a "Grubhub for Pharmacy" to help streamline the process of medication delivery to the elderly and vulnerable during this pandemic and beyond.

    We are launching a new website and Instagram account for a COVID-19 project. We are looking for help with 2 things:

    (1) SOCIAL MEDIA CREATION / FEEDBACK: Volunteers to help advise or create social media posts for Instagram, including giving feedback on pictures, coloring, messaging, etc. A background in design is not required.

    (2) INSTAGRAM PROMOTION: Volunteers to promote our new Instagram page through their own personal and/or professional networks by liking and sharing posts, tagging peers, and sending DMs. The size of your personal IG network can be smaller or large. We are particularly looking to promote our new effort among young adults, scientists, teachers, students, parents, immigrant communities, people of color, disability advocates, nurses, doctors, and other first responders.

    Moving With H.O.P.E. (MWH) is a 501c3 non-profit that provides essential rehab, adaptive exercise, and life skills training to people living with moderate to severe physical disabilities in Greater New Haven and Greater Bridgeport. In response to COVID-19, we are partnering with local scientists, community leaders, and youth activists to provide essential supplies, food, and information.

    Living in southern Connecticut is not required for these volunteer positions. We are hoping to promote our effort regionally / nationwide.

    Moving With H.O.P.E.

    Search and/or apply for $1,000 to $10,000 to provide funding for a projects that will train provide food and supplies to homeless shelters, immigrant communities, and the homebound in Greater New Haven, Greater Bridgeport, and Greater Waterbury.

    A grant template has already been created and we have identified about 10 foundations to apply to in Connecticut. Each application will take 1-2 hours to complete. If successful, we will expand the project to other metro areas: Stamford, Hartford, Danbury, New London, and Springfield, Mass.
