Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS)
IRIS is collaborating with a group of volunteer ramp-building experts to get a ramp built at the door of our wheelchair-bound client's apartment, so that her husband will no longer have to carry her up and down the steps. They have asked us to provide a few volunteers to help with the labor, which is scheduled to be done this Saturday, October 3rd. We are looking for two groups of volunteers:
One group of 2 or 3 volunteers to work with them in the morning, 9:30am to12:30
One group of 2 or 3 volunteers to work with them in the afternoon, 12:30 to 4:00pm
You could be in one or the other or both - just let us know very clearly your availability, so that we can plan accordingly. No special skill or experience is needed - but the work will involve assembling an outdoor ramp and installing it, so being able to e.g. hammer a nail would be helpful
