Pantry to Pantry Drivers and Bag-Packers

Organization

Pantry to Pantry

Description

Volunteer drivers are asked to make a regular 2-hour commitment on one or more days per week. You'll arrive at a pantry, and pick up a list of 6-8 names, phone numbers, and addresses, and grocery bags for those families. The list is routed for maximum efficiency, and we provide gloves and wipes and instructions for completing no-contract dropoffs.

Volunteer bag-packers are added to an email list that gets a sign-up sheet each week with opportunities to pack bags. We offer a variety of times and there are necessary tasks that are suitable for volunteers with various levels of ability and strength. Families welcome!

Mission Statement

We deliver groceries to low-income residents of New Haven, Hamden, West Haven, and East Haven who are elderly, immunocompromised, and/or disabled. We have nearly 600 active clients and a volunteer base of around 40 drivers and 10 bag-packers. Join the team!
