New Haven Residents vs. COVID-19

This is a New Haven-wide partnership platform, where New Haven residents can volunteer (in-person or remotely) and local non-profits and government can post volunteer needs. Let us unite and fight the pandemic together!

Literacy Volunteers is seeking individuals who are interested in tutoring over Zoom. As a tutor, you will either work with English language speakers who are seeking to improve their reading and writing skills, or help speakers of other languages with English fluency. You don’t have to be a certified teacher. You don’t have to speak another language. All you need is a sincere desire to help people transform their lives. Literacy Volunteers will train you – on teaching English, and on teaching via Zoom. And they will support you every step of the way. If you are interested, please visit their website at www.lvagnh.org to read about the program and fill out a volunteer application.

  • Tutors Needed For Summer and Fall

New Haven Boys and Girls Club

The New Haven Boys and Girls Club is currently looking into potential options for remote programming during the Summer and Fall for its students. We would love to learn which Yale undergraduate and graduate students might be willing and available to teach our students engaging and informative one-time seminars or series on topics they are knowledgeable about. Students would primarily be teaching preteens who would require an educational experience that is as interactive as possible. If you are interested in leading a course remotely most likely in partnership with New Haven Boys and Girls club staff, please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfnrZlOuvLBWoOfb1-8JalFmihVJ9j61Khb2osQdgFvws41GA/viewform. This form is non-binding, and simply serves a mechanism for us to gauge potential avenues for remote programming. According to our bandwidth and the varied interest of club members, we may reach out regarding your availability to participate in either Summer or Fall.. Thank you so much for your time and interest in advance!
