United Way of Greater New Haven
One of the biggest challenges brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic has been the increased need for groceries throughout the region. To meet this need, United Way is working with community partners to host a drive-thru food pantry distribution event on Friday, July 31st from 2:45pm – 6:30pm in Fair Haven. We need volunteers to unload, pack and distribute groceries to families in need! Join us as a volunteer and help feed over 300 families.
Specific needs include:
Bilingual volunteers are needed, however dual language skills are not required
Volunteers must be able to lift a 30lb. box
Volunteers must be generally healthy, not immunocompromised in any way, and have no exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, coughing, shortness of breath) in the past two weeks
This in-person volunteer opportunity will incorporate social distancing measures for both volunteers and the community to ensure that we can deliver vital support in the safest way possible.
Please bring your own mask!
